About the Clinic
The Koşuyolu Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic has been a pioneer in the field of heart health since the establishment of our hospital in 1985, and with numerous surgical treatment types and developed surgical techniques, it has become a renowned brand both nationally and internationally. Since its inception, our clinic has been providing services in the surgical treatment of heart diseases, and with an average of 15 surgeries performed daily and approximately 2500 open-heart surgeries annually, it is recognized as one of Turkey's and Europe's leading centers. The surgical team has achieved national and international success in all aspects of heart surgery, performing coronary and valve surgeries, aortic procedures, heart transplants, and artificial heart applications with high success rates. The team is composed of experienced and seasoned senior physicians as well as young, dynamic, and globally-aware specialists who prioritize patient care.
Our clinic has played a significant role as a coordinating clinic in the establishment and preparation of new cardiovascular surgery centers, both nationally and internationally. By enabling the first private-public partnership in heart surgery in Turkey, our clinic allowed the private sector to take part in the national health policy. As the first center to initiate the operation of cardiovascular surgery clinics in different cities' public hospitals, we have been pioneers in shaping the country's health policies. Over the years, we have become an exemplary clinic in Turkey by providing services for the establishment, development, support, and eventual independence of cardiovascular surgery clinics in various public hospitals. Some of the hospitals that we have assisted include the International Hospital, Azerbaijan Baku Central Hospital, Van High Specialization Training and Research Hospital, Kocaeli Derince Training and Research Hospital, Antalya Training and Research Hospital, Mersin State Hospital, Samsun Mehmet Aydın State Hospital, Trabzon Numune Training and Research Hospital, Sakarya Training and Research Hospital, Giresun Prof. Dr. A. Our Cardiovascular Surgery Operating Theater has been modernized and can accommodate up to 12 simultaneous surgeries, making it one of the most advanced operating theaters of our time. Designed to provide uninterrupted service, our operating theater has the necessary infrastructure to perform flawless surgical procedures, from newborn babies to the elderly, from simple heart surgeries to heart-lung transplantation. This capability allows us to intervene in all emergency surgical procedures at any time, in addition to daily planned surgeries. In our operating theaters, simultaneous echocardiography can be performed in all rooms, enabling the evaluation of surgical results right on the operating table. Our hospital has a total of 58 adult cardiovascular surgery intensive care beds, making it the highest-capacity heart center. In the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit, a team of specialized physicians, nurses, technicians, and technologists provides healthcare services with the highest quality and equipment.
The Koşuyolu Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic is composed of 7 Education Instructors (5 Professors, 2 Associate Professors), 4 Education Staff (2 Senior Residents, 2 Associate Professors), 8 Specialist Physicians, and 26 Resident Physicians, who conduct medical and academic activities. Our team has contributed to hundreds of national and international scientific papers, book chapters, and congress participations, making it an exemplary clinic in the academic field. We continue to provide daily polyclinic services in specific areas such as regular polyclinics, specialist physician polyclinics, heart transplant polyclinics, artificial heart polyclinics, venous and lymphatic vessel polyclinics. With the pre-operative polyclinic service, patients are thoroughly prepared for surgical interventions before admission to the hospital.
